Beyond The Grave

I told you once I’d love you always.
Why would you believe I lied?
My love for you will gently whisper,
Weeping on the other side.

My passion reaches through the vacuum
To touch you through the gates of Hell.
You’ll never be alone. I’m with you,
Waiting where the Angel fell.

If you betrayed me, I forgive you,
“Sleeping” in the “peace” you gave,
Yet your reward for Holy Virtue –
To feel me from beyond the grave.

You moved me on from earthly terror –
No more the hunter in the night.
You pierced my heart and tried to guide my
Soul back to immortal light.

Believing all the childish stories,
They told you I had peace at last,
Laying chained in sleep eternal or
Wand’ring Heaven’s caverns vast.

If you betrayed me, I forgive you;
Immortal souls are hard to save.
The priests and slaves of God deceived you.
I’ll find you from beyond the grave.

So never think there’ll be an ending,
My love will conquer time and tide.
Death will never keep me from you, in
Mortality you cannot hide.

Through all the spheres of life I’ll love you,
Remembering this wound you gave.
My shadow reaches slowly for you.
I’ll take you back beyond the grave.

If you betrayed me, I forgive you,
I’m coming now my love. Be brave.
In death we’ll be together always,
We two as one beyond the grave.

  1. I think this is a classic and I want to read it again, but it’s a bit scary (‘gates of Hell’). WoW! Serious stuff, man! Brill!
