In The Company Of Fallen Angels

I’ve seen many things,
Many things I can’t explain.
Learned the hidden truth
In things sacred and profane.

I’ve seen innocents die screaming as they perished by the sword,
I’ve seen sinners raised exalted as they came to praise the Lord
Because I’ve lived my life in the company of Fallen Angels.

I’ve heard many tales,
Many tales I know for lies.
I’ve heard many fools
Try to pass themselves as wise.

I’ve heard the cries of righteous men as their fortresses are burned,
Seen the smiles of corporate monsters as their bonuses are earned
Because they live their lives in the company of Fallen Angels.

I’ve known many times
Something evil’s on its way.
I’ve prayed every time
Let today, Lord, be the day.

Give hope back to your people, Lord, give the laughter back, and love
And lead them through the terror to the Glory up above
Because they’ve lived their lives in the company of Fallen Angels.
